Privacy Policy

The short version

Relier is a tool for groups to pick a restaurant fair to everyone. We don't require accounts and we don't store your searches on our servers. Addresses you type get sent to third parties (Mapbox for routing, Google Maps Platform for restaurant data and public-transit times) so we can find restaurants and travel times; your recent searches live in your own browser's storage. That's essentially it.

What we collect

• Addresses you type. Each person's location is sent to Mapbox for geocoding and routing.
• Your approximate location, only if you tap "Use my current location" (browser geolocation). We don't request or store it otherwise.
• Your IP address, in the access logs of our hosting provider. Used for rate-limiting and basic abuse prevention.
• Recent searches, stored in your browser's own localStorage on your device. We never see them.

What we don't collect

• Your name, email, or phone number (we have no accounts).
• Your search history on our servers (it's only on your device).
• Payment information (we don't process payments).
• Tracking cookies for advertising.

Third parties we share with

To make the app work, addresses and coordinates you type are sent to these services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

• Mapbox — geocoding addresses and computing driving / walking / cycling times.
• Google Maps Platform — searching for nearby restaurants and their details (name, rating, hours, phone), and also computing public-transit travel times when transit mode is selected for at least one person.

Affiliate links

Some "Book a Table" links may include an affiliate ID (for example, OpenTable). If you book through them, Relier may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We never let this influence which restaurants are ranked higher.

Your rights

Because we don't store personal data on our servers, there isn't a data set tied to you to access or delete. To clear your recent searches, open Relier and remove individual entries, or clear your browser's storage for this site.
